Is this a normal way for a chin to act?

i jus got him last week and i dont know if this is normal for him or not. i cant tell if his still getting used to me or if his sick. he eats and runs around in his cage a lot. He jus started to drink a lot more a couple of nights ago. But when i put him back in his cage or when his been runnning around, he climbs up to his hide away and sits there. He really hasnt been shewing alot either. i have yet to see him chew on the lava blocks i got him. im starting to get scared. i tried looking online but none of the things they are saying match up to him. What should i do?
